Thanks to all for comments. I have never owned a cat, however, I feel honored when cats give me the time of day. I don't know what the dream means but it was empowering. People don't intimidate me like they used to do.
I carved this piece from a longer one and found it impossible to make it a fifty worder. Now I am even more impressed with the fifty word exercise.
There is an idea for one percolating in my brain...

Now this is one 50 word exercise that has come off, Jan!

Alright Janet ~ Let's discuss your DREAM . . . Allow me to entitle it, "DISCOVERY OF NEW POWER!"

"I observe a psychic lady giving a reading to a woman with big dark eyes. A black cat sits next to the reader.

I sense a change in the room's energy. Both women look at me. Strange vibrations pierce my body. Visible waves arc from them to me as clear wispy strands of light. They feel foreign and invasive.

I send all the energy back with a forceful thrust, blowing the last of it through my whistling lips.

The discovery of this new power thrills me. The cat comes over to be caressed, demanding more and more. I wake up." ~ Janet's DREAM - "DISCOVERY OF NEW POWER!"

FIRST: THE BLACK CAT . . . IN THE BEGINNING of the DREAM ~ "A black cat sits next to the reader." And, IN THE END of the DREAM . . . "The cat comes over to be caressed, demanding more and more." -- [So it is established that the "reader" and the black cat are closely related. The black cat is demanding more and more of what it discovers during the DREAM.]


Janet the Psychic woman in the dream is you. The woman with the big dark eyes is you 2 observing and listening to yourself.

The energy in the room changes, and you sense it ~ (this is your spiritual awareness).

The "Visible waves arc from them to me as clear wispy strands of light." -- This is a VERY GOOD DREAM SYMBOL. (Transference of power -- It is you giving yourself POWER to do; to act; to advance -- in a double dose. To give advice and receive advice is also a significant point being made in this dream. The psychic reader has the ability to read people; the one with the big dark eyes is listening and observing. The bigger the eyes the better. It represents keen awareness.

NOTE: {Unless the eyes are budging -- which is bad. And the facial expressions are always significant.} Since you did not mention the expressions ~ it is not important. If the expressions on their faces struck you, you would have written it down and remembered it.

The other thing you mentioned in this DREAM about the waves ~ ~ clear wispy strands of light (which is good), is the feeling you received from them . . . "They feel foreign and invasive." -- FOREIGN because the process you are going through is new to you -- INVASIVE because the way it comes to pass invades your comfort zone -- your territory so to speak.

I have learned that one can interpret dreams by attributing all the characters in the dream to the dreamer. It was indeed, an empowering dream and for me an acknowledgment of reaching the next stage in my development as a human BEing.

Change the gender of the characters in your DREAM Janet, and you have a very different interpretation. Change the positions of the characters in the Janet DREAM, and you have an even different interpretation.

If I tell you, . . . Janet DREAM it would be the same as DREAM JANET.

My point ~ Teach me how to do what you say you've learned with love.

Exciting dream!

I perceive the reader to be a person who uses false, pretend, or perhaps even dark power to achieve her goals. As an honest and good person, you sense that this power is either untrue or even evil--at least distasteful--and you use your honesty, love, and other wonderful and good skills to fight this other power that you sense. Of course, the cat, representing the nature of the world itself, is much more attracted to you and your good power!

You have the power, Janet! You ARE the power! GO for it!

My interpretation is different from René's, but hers was fun to read, too.

I missed this one somehow Jan. This is a helluva dream of transmuted energy and self empowerment! I love the final detail about the cat, wanting to be caressed. I'm still puzzling this one out, even after reading the thread.
