OK, I guess I will join this foray of "interesting things about me." I think it's a great way to get to know each other on Gather.
- I married a wonderful gentleman and I love my husband;
- I came to this country as a Chinese student hardly speaking fluent English;
- I succeeded in Silicon Valley with originally no tech background;
- I am very focused and entrepreneurial;
- I am optimistic and see glass half-full;
- I am from a not very happy family, which made me determine to make my own family happy and I did;
- I was very shy and finally got over it!
- I practiced calligraphy EVERY DAY from 5 years old till college;
- I was trained in both traditional Chinese and western painting, but never became an artist;
- My childhood dream was to get into Harvard and work at UN or international organizations – both of them didn't come true :-)
- I also dreamed to become a poetess;
- I learned to play Guitar once;
- I loved and still love to dance;
- I am romantic;
- I am still idealistic and will probably never get over it;
- I traveled to European continent (eight countries) by myself alone!
- I was fascinated to date Greek and Italian guys who are very opposite to my own culture;
- I want to stay forever young and refuse to accept the law of nature!
- I love to decorate my home and am good at it;
- I wish I could play piano like a pro;
- I feel a foreigner among Americans, and also a foreigner among Chinese;
- I am privileged and enriched to live in both cultures;
- If I have extra hours in a day, I would like to spend on meditation;
- I am passionate about life and want to make it beautiful;
- I believe my splash is still ahead!

I have all the challenges everyone has and try to be stronger than that!
Thank you for your comment! Hanging there!
Thank you for stoping by and for your encouragement!
I can completely relate to your statement #21. When I would visit my German family as a child I was always too American. Here in the states, a bit too German.
It just means they need to give us our own country to run! ;)
A great list! Thanks for sharing it.
This is your country....don't get me started!
Helen, you must have broken a lot of hearts along the way!
And BTW...you forgot to mention that #11is a "dream" that has come true! You are a "poetess" here on Gather!
lee, thank you very much for your very kind comment. Yes, I brought a piano for myself when I first had enough disposable income. Now I am thinking to upgrade it to a grand piano :-).
