I am a singer songwriter who also loves to take frequent dips into the world of writing. I am so very appreciative of Gather because it gives me a ready platform for both of these pursuits. This post - see the long lists below - this post is intended as a quick shortcut to my work on Gather. Its creation resulted in the formation of the Maps To Our Posts Group where I encourage others to develop similar indexes for their work.

How to Create a Hyperlink Within Your Article
Creating a Comment Link Cheat Sheet
Patricia, Carol, thank you. I'll see just how easy I can make it and then share again.
Laura, having a place where the URLs of each article are kept is key. I'm glad you liked this.
Jessie, it was a lot of work to set up the first time, but it's looking like it won't be so difficult to maintain.
So, because you didn't list it: Ron's Great Dvorak Keyboard Article
EB, I discovered in the process that *I* am coming back to this post in order to navigate my own content. So yes, it seems to have a lot of potential.
Irene, thank you.
It would be good to give our best work a longer shelf life while letting the throw awaya slide out of sight.
But I do have a question.. do you really think we should republish every week, won't people get sick of it.. and looks pretty self-promoting? Plus, are you talking about republishin or just editing? If former, specificallly how do you do that?
Edward, my purpose for republishing the summary every week would be to keep it near the top of my list of past postings. Each time I repost it I would delete the previous version. It probably is rather self-promoting, but it's just a post in a blizzard of other posts. I hope people don't get sick of it. If I see any evidence they are, I'll do something different. There are alternatives - starting a group to house the summary, reposting it every month - I don't even know if I can get the system to work yet. I think the future versions will be posted to few, if any, groups for example. I wanted to get the process out there, and the ongoing summary will be more discrete.
Jim, I'm almost jealous. I still don't know how to put a link in a comment. I'm working on it : ) I too have started putting links in my posts, including a couple in today's To Buy or Not To Buy.
[a href="the page link"]the words you want linked[/a]
except change the brackets to greater/less than symbols "< >"
I do think the idea of an author determining their favorite or better works is an excellent idea, especially when they are prolific. Thanks Ron!
AstroGirl, it's a little work to set up, but I know I'm having visits to some of my older posts, so it's working. I want it to work for anyone who wants it though . . .
Very interesting articles and posts that you put on here.
A+++++++++++++++ rating from me.
Wow, This article sure gives me something to do. So, a singer/songwriter, I will definitely check out these links. And by the way, after the last upgrade, you can very easily post HTML links in comments... look at the lower right corner in the comment box, click on "HTML", and it is that easy.
I've noticed that, Carol. I should be making use of it. I've had very good luck with linking. Linking has been very, very good to me.
What a great idea and I've never thought to do it. It looks like a lot of work, but once it's set up, you add to it, so that's not so bad. Thank you for doing this so we can easily find your work.
