I'd love to be surrounded by warm and caring Gatherers when I go on tour to read and sign books in Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, and San Francisco, so, if you live nearby or have relatives and/or friends who you think might enjoy this event, please forward this e-mail on to them with my blessings.

Thanks all! And blessings on your writing. As publicity not only involves touring, but also a host of other efforts to assist the publicist, I shall not be able to connect much until after July 9. Meanwhile, I shall be thinking of all of you.

i just finished your book. can i say how amazing it was, how it touched me, how it moved my SOUL? i am still crying. you, dear friend, are a powerful writer, chronicler of life, giver of joy. thank you for this. wish i could give you a hug at ALL your book readings!! thank you.

Beryl, I second Pam!! There are great bookstores in Raleigh and in Durham, where I live. The two cities are about 30 minutes apart and I will be more than happy to be your guide, drive you around, put you up for the night, anything that would get you here :-) We East Coasters are friendly, too!

Beryl, bought the book yesterday at the Harvard coop. I was looking in memoir or biography, but they directed to the religion section.

I had to go to the Museum of Fine Arts today to host a film program, but I started reading on the trolly and almost missed my stop. I could hardly wait for our program to be over as I continued reading on the bus and subway home. It's tough to put down. I feel so connected to you. I'm sure I'll be finished by tonight.

I am amazed at the number of people who have said they read the book through in one sitting because they couldn't put it down. It makes me smile at the irony that something that took me so terribly long to write should be read so quickly. Your shared delight in the story makes me very happy. Thanks all. And, even if I don't get to to North Carolina or to Phoenix while on tour, I shall make a point of contacting you should we head that way on vacation.

For those who haven't bought it yet, I have found the book in the religious section in every store I've been to with one exception. Barnes & Noble had four copies on the "Just Arrived" table, of which there's only one left. The Borders near me has run out. I plan to order gift copies through them so they will order more. A few people have already asked if they could hitch a ride with me to a Mpls reading.

I do hear that it is selling out ever since that big article ran in the Star Tribune last Saturday. I wonder though about the shelving in the religion section. I have heard from many people that that was where they found the only remaining copy. I need to ask my publicist about this, because it belongs in memoir as well.

I wish that your book tour were coming to the South, Beryl. I would drive the two hours to Atlanta or the three hours to Charlotte, NC.

Beryl, definitely should be in NEW RELEASES and in MEMOIR. The Harvard Coop my correct their placing it only in the Religion section before tonights reading.
