Those that know me are aware that I love the Gather community, and enjoy helping other members make the most of their experience here. Since joining Gather back in March, 2006, I have observed that the tapestry of Gather is woven with personal accounts, unique observations, accomplishments, set-backs, hope, inspiration, and selfless acts of kindness. There are articles that entertain and educate, and images that bring a diverse and colorful world easily within my grasp.
Throughout my history on Gather I have seen the lives of members...the people of this community forever changed by their participation here. Artists reaching a new appreciative audience, writers being recognized through their participation, and ending up between the pages of major publications. Even those gaining the courage to write for the first time, or others simply finding their voice. As a community, Gather touches the lives of those that participate in distinct ways, from the profound to the immeasurable. Therein lies it's strength, and for me, fascination.
Therefore, assisting with site navigation, answering questions, or guiding attention to additional resources is my personal way of contributing, and furthering the success and interaction of members within this great community.
Currently, my tutorials, 'Spirit of Community' and Gather Group Awards, scavenger hunts, member interviews, and other content is published under my membername threemenfishing.gather.com.
I also host a daily live chat or 'help line', and publish the 'Gather Tip of the Day' under the pen name of 'Member Guide to Gather' (memberguide.gather.com). Coming soon will be a categorized help index to all useful resources on Gather, a more consolidated and uniform approach to site help and tutorials, and step-by-step video instruction for many Gather functions, among other exciting and innovative content. Look for it soon!
I am very excited to be a part of the new 'Gather Guides' program!

Thanks for all you've done, and continue to do so well!!
*The picture that is accompanying your article is wonderful!!! Thank you for all that you do for us. It is very much appreciated!
Glad to see some long-overdo light shine on you.
It's great to have you as a team leader to the Gather Guides. You have helped so many members on Gather by sharing your insight and knowledge in the past. This is clearly a real strength of yours and we are thankful for your participation!
You certainly ARE the natural choice for a lead and I'm thrilled to hear that you will be guiding us, just like you always have been, but in a more "official" way now.
I'm excited to be working with you and here's to having fun and helping as many people as we can!
Originally I informed Gather that I didn't want to participate in the program. This was principally due to the fact that I didn't want to receive compensation for helping other members. For me, a simple 'thank you', or knowing that I improved the experience of a fellow member was reward enough. Thus, I will be distributing the monthly stipend from Gather to my fellow Guides, and giving it away as contest prizes and other awards in the community.
Look for a few interesting contests coming up soon!
Will Gather now give your group 'Member Guide to Gather' an official status?
Thank you!
I am attempting to objectively review this group, and all 'help' resources across Gather. Ultimately, I may migrate some of my content to one location, or centralize it in the best manner I can. While my group will not be 'officially' managed by Gather, my acceptance of the Team Leader role does make it easier for Gather to promote my groups and content as the program evolves.
Of course, my groups are open to content from any member, as long as the submission guidelines are met.
So... we'll have to wait and see what happens! :-)
K E V I N !!!
This is a job tailor made just for you! I'm so glad to see that gather appreciates all your input and help.
Are you clicking the 'Send Group Mail' button on the main page (groupspace) for your group? This should take you to the Compose a Message page, with the To: field already filled in with the distribution list for your group (your group name will appear next to the word To:).
Is this what you are experiencing?
Congratulations, my friend. I'd give you another Golden Boot Award but I'm waiting for the graphic ... hint, hint.
also, last night PST approx. 9pm i could not access Gather tho' fine for other sites online and thus not my ISP.....corrected today, but i contacted other Gather memb friend via reg. email addy who also lives on the leftcoast and he said no probs on his end last night....Gather sent me notices of coms left to me,but i couldn't access inbox nor anything at Gather...just a glitch?
cheers,gayle
When you get the Compose page, can you enter anything in the To: field, or only the CC: or BCC: fields?
If you can enter something in the To: field, then there is a glitch that would be out of my control to resolve. :-(
