Today is the day when I go to clear out Mimi's flat and choose those bits and pieces which mean most to her. I shall take them with me when I ferry her from the hospital to her new abode and together we'll make this momentous journey. A mere half an hour, a few miles down the road will take us there but the paucity of time and distance bears no relation to the importance of the occasion. It is another mile-stone in Mimi's life. Mimi, who lived through WW11, married, bore a child, worked hard, was widowed, moved to the country, became an oasis for the whole family, is going into a nursing home. I wanted to record this day and this event, minute in the scheme of things but "Oh! the difference to me".
She's leaving her home,
Just one more major life step -
Perhaps her last but one.
