Last summer was the first summer I lived on my own. I moved into an apartment with two friends, Nathan and Daniel, for the summer (we also had an imaginary roommate we named Carlos). Living on your own for the first time can be an adventure, so I recorded the adventures and am now sharing them on Gather. All these adventures are absolutely true (except for the parts I make up). Read the adventure that started it all.
I was hanging out with my friends Nathan, Kim, and Rachel. For the summer, Nathan and I were living in an on-campus apartment with one other guy. For some reason we went to the basement of the boy's dorm that housed us during the Fall and Spring. We didn't even stay long, but I believe it was fate. Nathan found a tin of mints under one of the couch cushions. He didn't want to eat them, because he said the tin was partially open under the cushion.
I like mints. I really don't care if they've been partially opened under a couch cushion, so I ate some. I offered them to Nathan, but he said something deep inside of him was telling him, "Don't eat couch mints, don't eat couch mints, don't eat couch mints."
I don't think that was very nice of deep inside Nathan because he missed out. I ate the mints throughout watching a movie that evening. I took them to work with me, and I finished the couch mints. I hope I find more couch mints someday.
