Last summer was the first summer I lived on my own. I moved into an apartment with two friends, Nathan and Daniel, for the summer (we also had an imaginary roommate we named Carlos). Living on your own for the first time can be an adventure, so I recorded the adventures and am now sharing them on Gather. All these adventures are absolutely true (except for the parts I make up).
The night that my roommates, Nathan and Daniel, and our friend Kim, and I watched the entire Evil Dead trilogy in one night, we also ate ice cream. The only ice cream scoop we had, we dubbed "Demon Ice Cream Scoop." If you ever had to use it, you would know why we called it that. It was made out of plastic. Ice cream always got stuck under the plastic piece that was supposed to shove the ice cream out of the scoop, so you would have to shake the scoop for ten minutes over your bowl to get the ice cream to release.
That very same night, I threw the ice cream scoop out our door into the street. The next day when Nathan and I were preparing lunch, we found the ice cream scoop in our sink. This time Nathan took it outside and put it under a tire of a vehicle parked in front of our apartment to make sure it couldn't come back. As we were walking back into our apartment, an acorn fell from the tree above us and almost hit us. We are sure that a Killer Squirrel was trying to attack us.
Demon Ice Cream Scoop. Killer Squirrel Attack. Maybe we should stop staying up until 3:30 AM watching Evil Dead.
