if you know anything about me, it is that i love water (and food). when we were in seattle last summer, one of my favorite things was to spend time at golden gardens beach. within 3 hours of landing in seattle a few weeks ago (once we were fed), we were back at the beach. oh, lovely. there wasn't much oceanic life washed up by the tide - we were too late in the day for that.

however, we were lucky enough to see puget sound absolutely FULL of sailboats. i love love love sailing. i perched on a twisted piece of driftwood and started snapping photos. we were lucky in the weather - it looked like it was going to storm, but somehow, the sun valiantly struggled through the clouds to illuminate both the sails and our day. lovely. what a gorgeous reaquaintance with seattle, the salty air, and the pure sea smell of the water.

stephen - now that is my public service to you. :) yours to me is your kindness to dogs! (i'm sort of scared of them, since being mauled while swimming. but that's another story). glad we have each other!
hannah - if you see this every day, you are ONE LUCKY WOMAN! (and i am one envious friend...)
liz - oh, my. i wish you could go sailing with your father, too. maybe he's present in the sunbeams, and surely in your memories. grief is too hard, isn't it? hugs to you, friend.
I really hope someday to see the the ocean ib the northwest!

liz - haven't been there yet. now another thing to add!! heh heh....like i need more excuses to go to seattle??

I live in Seattle so, I get to see that wonderful view everyday! I go out of my way in the morning just to see the water and the boats! There is no other place in the world that I would rather live and yes I have lived other places. The Golden Gardens that you speak of is this in Ballard? Please come back and enjoy Seattle again.
debra - you are SO LUCKY!! yahoo for you! yes, in ballard. i like ballard a lot, we did lots of things there. we'll be back, never fear.
debra - oh, i hoe you got some chocolate milkshake for me to go with those burgers! yahoo!! lucky ducky. we don't really like rock music (i know, and we love seattle??) but ed loves to bowl. moon temple - chinese? LOVE IT! send more restaurant recs. i always have room for another meal...
carol, yes. i am thinking if it continues to warm up, to get out the sunfish. i just hate it, though, when the water gets in and it is cold on your butt. worth it, though!!
