As for chick flicks, how about foreign films? I nominate "Amelie". For a man's man's man's foreign film, I think the winner here must be Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai" -- if George Lucas based "Star Wars" off of it, it must be a good guy's flick! :)
Old Yeller makes EVERYone cry -- women and children first (but men and neutrals like Switzerland as well).
John Williams -- Groundhog Day a chick flick? Interesting. The humor seems to appeal more to guys than "chicks." Sure it has romance, but it treads on that 3 Stooges line sometimes -- where Angels (Charlie's or otherwise) fear to tread, as a rule.
KR -- I did hesitate about listing _Groundhog Day_ as a chick flick, but I figured that any movie about a male jerk reforming into a sensitive, thoughtful, and helpful human being must appeal to a woman's deepest desires.
I actually cried when the Terminator went into the pool of molten metal and waved good bye to the little boy (in Terminator 2), but I was emotionally fragile at the time.
Walter, you almost made coffee come shooting out my nose! I found the first Terminator movie to be very emotionally moving. Than again- I cry at Hallmark commercials.
Drum roll - GREASE! What the f**** Once and for all Grease is not a chick flick, never has been and never will be a chick flick. It's absolutely full of male inudenos and well as female s***. No one can ever call Grease a chick flick. I hope I make myself clear.
