When I post here on "Building a Better Gather", I usually get responses from Gather staff in the form of comments or posts. But when I send email to feedback@gather.com, it seems to go into a black hole. I've sent four messages there, the first two a week and a half ago, and nobody has responded to any of them.
I view posting here as something for topics of general interest, things that I'd like to say to other Gather members, or want to hear their feedback on. For simple bug reports, questions, or suggestions that I don't think are of general interest, email makes a lot more sense. But how do I know if anyone ever reads my email, if they don't respond?

I've had a similar experience with messages to the editorial group - three email messages, as I recall, and no response at all. Not seeing any point in remaining a member of this particular group, I unsubscribed and no longer bother with anything to do with the group. Which is far from ideal.

But do you know if they ever answer emails sent to feedback@gather.com?
If you are seeking help from Gather such as difficulty using the site or trouble with a username then support@gather.com is the best route and someone will get back to you with help. Usually that person will be Ben. Don't forget that we try to take the weekends off too so you might not get a reply until Monday.
Feedback@gather.com is for your suggestions and messages telling us what you think. Several of us at Gather read every one of these messages. We discuss these as we consider new features and we pay close attention to how often similar ideas are suggested as feedback. We get tons of these and there is simply no way to reply to every one. On suggestions particularly we probably don't know when we might consider particular new options but we love seeing what you suggest.
Our focus will be on requests for support and help first and general questions next. If you are reporting a bug to Gather we thank you for the information and will try to get working on it as soon as possible especially if it is an issue we didn't already know about. Suggestions and Ideas are encouraged and appreciated. Please don't think these are filling a black hole at Gather. we welcome and encourage you to send us email. This Gather community is very vocal and engaged and it really helps us as we plan the future of this great endeavor.
