A Child's View on Getting To Heaven

Directions for reading and singing this.  Use a banjo, and just strum when you get to the child dialogue.  Otherwise sing loudly on the bold words!

"Wait for me," cried Otis. "I'm trying, really trying to be good. I'm sorry I broke my sister's arm, pushing her out of the swing." he wailed. "I promise to be real good from now on. I don't want Jesus to forget 'bout me."

"Get on board , l'tle children, there's room for many a more"

"I'm gonna be as good as gold now," announced Millicent. "I already et up all the candy. I don't think there's anything' else I can be naughty 'bout."

"The gospel train's a comin', it's comin' round the bend"

"I know'd I shun't a done it, but them cookies looked so good a'coolin' there on the porch railin'" bellowed Raymond, as he got the hair brush on the behind. "I'm gonna try bein' good from now on!"

"I hear those train wheels rumblin', they're comin' down the land"

"I do want to get to heaven, Preacher!" Susannah wimpered. "I'm gonna help my mommy a whole lot more an' not hide from her when it's time for doin' the chores."

"The fare is cheap and all can go, the rich and poor are there"

"Well, I ain't gonna take no more candy from the store and I promise t'be good as ever was, if you'll let me know if my chances are still good for heaven." Jenny hollered to her Pop.

"No second class aboard this train, no difference in the fare"

"Okay, I'll never do that no more, I didn't mean it, I'm sorry, I'll try to do better, I know I shouldn't, I sure won't try it again, I want to go to heaven too,
