Well, I petted George goodbye and gave him a kiss on the head, and after I found my wife's keys for her, they were all out the door and on the way to the airport. Well, since I've been working mostly nights recently, I started to get ready for work. The first thing I noticed was that george wasn't standing next to me at the toilet, as I peed. He usually gives me that look...as soon as you get flush that toilet, I'm getting me some water.
So I hop into the shower, but there's no George there to pull back the shower curtain and take a peak. Usually he hops up to the edge and watches. I've gotten suspiscious. Maybe he's laughing at me, so I always told him, "Hey! Mine maybe be small, but at least I'm not fixed and it gets the job done!" He usually leaves around that time.
So, Yes. Immediately after he left, he was already missed. As I stepped out the door to go to work, I quickly guarded the door for possible escape...but George was already gone. And now, as I type this article George is not digging to sets of claws into my thigh as he pulls himself up into my lap.
In moments, after I head of to bed, he will be missed again when he doesn't sit on my head and purr his brains out. He won't then try to sit on my wife's head and wake her up. I usually try to re-steer him away from her, so she doesn't wake, but tonight...I guess that duty will not be required and I'll just get to go to sleep easily.
We miss you George.
