When questioned by Helen Thomas, George Bush justifies going to war on video, extemporaneously.
Bush notes that he didn't want to go to war; that presidents never want to go to war.
We went to war on Afghanistan because they harbored Al Qaeda, and we went to war in Iraq because we were in danger from WMD and Saddam was unresponsive to revealing his (nonexistent, Mr. President?) WMDs.
Still, he insists that the whole thing is about protecting us from the immediate threat of terrorism. Somehow I have a feeling that he didn't get that Mission Accomplished, and it was a very odd way to go about it.
As Truthout says in their newsletter:
"Three years after the start of the war, he still has no answer that makes sense."
When someone asks him, after Thomas' question, did he regret going to war he says, "I didn't really regret it...I just kinda regret it..."
Tell it to the families of the slain, Mr. President. Ours, our allies, and Iraqis who might have been our friends -- and even more others who are more determined as our enemies.

not to mention all that oil.
What is truly, truly ironic: If Jesus Christ was alive now, he would be a democrat.
I think Bush needs to ask himself "What would Jesus do?" Or stuff his so called religious affiliations somewhere... dark, dank, stinky and unpleasant.
I despite how bad Bush makes the American people look. I abhor how he treats good people like cattle.
I loathe the lives he ungratefully takes. And the fact he has authorized bodies being returned to the United States as frieght cargo, rather than giving these men and women the rites they deserve.
I don't like hypocrits and liars, can't ya tell?
Bush is the best thing that has ever happened to Al Qaida. They have really been flourishing in Iraq, where they didn't used to have a presence, since Bush overthrew Saddam, who didn't like Al Qaida at all.
And Al Qaida is the best thing that could have happened to Bush. Until 9/11, Bush was losing popularity and probably would have lost big in 2004.
And what was Michael Moore saying about the ties between the Bush family and the bin Laden family?
I hesitate to think Bush deliberately ignored all the pre-9/11 warnings about Al Qaida, but where would he be without them?
