Okay, I'll admit it. I watch PBS. Bob Ross was one of my favorite shows. I liked Jerry Yarnell's show as well. I'll also admit that I shop at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. Well, at Hobby Lobby I found Jerry Yarnell's "Painting Inspirations Volume 2".
Despite that everyone at work thinks I'm really talented, and despite that I have my own website (www.mabrooks.com), I am only an amateur artist. One day I'll go to art school and actually learn the craft...but until then, I'll rely on paint along books like Yarnell's.
Well, I used his acryllic techniques and applied them to Corel's Painter program. I was nearly done with the above painting, when my computer crashed. I lost all my work (except this small, intermediate version).
I really enjoyed the experience of painting this from scratch. I never quite finished, but I did get a lot further than what you see above. My question is, should I go back and redo this painting again? I'm not sure I'll enjoy the experience as much as the first time, but I never finished the painting and I kind of feel obligated to see how it would have turned out. Any thoughts?
