I look around the room
clutter everywhere
Dishes in the sink and counter
All waiting for me
I took my bath after work today
And fell into slumber
Was awakened by my son
Who left hair on the sink and floor
Just waiting for me
So I voiced my displeasure
He said, Mom, look at this place
That's why I don't want to come back here
I said, then find someplace else
He said maybe I will
Then he's out the door
Frustration, however, lingers
I want to hug him close
Tell him I love him
But he's already too far up the road

Thanks for your thoughts, Spencer and Kathryn. It's funny how I felt so guilty last night.
WM H. I love that line. I'm going to take that for my own.
