[warning -- this article doesn't contain strong language but the film does]
Ha Ha Ha America (if that link doesn't work, try this) by Jon Daniel Ligon (MFA, Brown, 1990) was one of the shorts presented at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
The movie is a mockumentary of the Chinese tiger's ascent, partially at America's expense, in a bitingly satirical, hip, pithy presentation. It is not, however, punctually accurate (see discussion here). Still, it made me laugh and cringe. Well worth 17 minutes, plus however much time you spend mulling over the implications.
Past Ligon films include The Real Adventures of GI Joe, showing the road to PTSD of our hero in an ill-conceived assault on the back yard.
I can't wait to see his next piece, California 2.0, about California's secession from America, which is to be a full length feature.
