all day long, i feel my bones, in a myriad of ways.
at night, lying next to lillie as she slowly falls asleep, my hand curls around hers. i feel love for her oozing through my fingers. can she feel it, too?
walking up stairs, my bad right leg and my 'good' left leg compete. usually, the left leg wins any contest. but when i was 13, a waterskiing adventure left my left knee with great pain and a lifelong weakness. stairs bring this out. i try to avoid them.
during a stretch from the computer, as i flop my upper half down and then slowly roll up, each vertebrae a small kink.
as i lie on the floor with lillie, doing a puzzle - my hipbone and elbow doth protest too much.
when i am cooking, and whisk in some ingredients - the fluidity of my arm and shoulder amaze me.
when a storm rolls in, the 6 breaks in my right leg notify me by their extra-loud presence.
when ed gives me a shoulder massage, the strength in his hands melting my shoulders 2 inches, returning my posture to normal.
when i walk or stand, and the whole ankle conglomeration lets me know through its shouts of pain.
when i lie down at night, and my bones melt into the mattress, seeking rest and rejuvenation.
