I lived on campus all four years of college. I had a private dorm room for most of the years. This was to preserve my sanity! It was nice to be able to use the second bed for guest to sit on, or to sort my laundry. It often acted as a catch-all for stuff that needed to be put away, and a place for my winter coat and backpack.
I awoke one cold morning and quickly got ready for class. Half asleep, I went down the hall, rode the elevator down 9 floors, walked out of the dorm and across campus to my class. I arrived in a daze, but on time. I went to my seat and took off my coat.
It was at this time that my heart stopped. I looked around nervously to see if anyone else was looking. Luckily, no one else seemed to notice. My coat was felted wool, and across the back of it was one of my bras, the lace clinging to the prickly felt. Ugh, last night's laundry that I didn't put away! In one fell swoop I grabbed it off and shoved it in the pocket.
It took a few moments for the sheer horror to wear off and the humor to set in. I sat chuckling quietly, wondering if anyone noticed, and if so, why no one bothered to say anything. Thank goodness it had been an eight A.M. class! Any later and I would have been the joke of campus for sure. Hardly anyone had eight A.M. classes, and most who did, slept through them.
I would say I learned a lesson about having a catch-all place, but looking at my surroundings almost ten years later, apparently I have not learned that yet. But hey – it was pretty funny!

Carolyn, I'm write there with you. On the way home from work the first thing I do when I get in the car is light a cigerette and unlock the bra. I just cross my fingers I want get pulled over by a cop.
Brandon - LOL! Good! Hee hee!
Kathryn - oh, that sounds embarrasing too! Glad it never did!
Carolyn - ah, yes - a bra for me is a wear it if you absolutely have to thing!
Pam - I hate when stuff like that happens!
Serina - Gotta hate those tickets for not wearing a bra -- LOL - Sorry - had to say it! You know how dangerous driving can be if you do not have your breasts restrained. LOL!
Don't we all have a story like this? I am sure I do, I have just blacked out from my memory.
Carl - you are too funny!
Michelle - you are welcome dear! I hope this does service to all those in cold climates and who have catch-all places!
Jim - lol our dorms were mostly smaller than this one - but I guess I was lucky! That is, until the 2 AM fire alarms because of burnt popcorn - then it was 9 flights of stairs down!
