I remember a long long time ago, before Gather became a household name, when we were still flying under the radar - and a brief blog post written by a self-annointed blog pundit asked "Just another social networking app, or web 2.0 goodness," which became somewhat of a joke between Mike, Tommy, Chris and myself - in fact, everytime we discussed a new feature, Mike would make some comment about "Is this Web 2.0 Goodness?". Thinking about that this morning, and the nexus between groups, publishing and web 2.0 - I wondered to what extent we are all trying to create a mental public space, a collaborative memespace (pardon the jargon), and thought - wouldn't it be cool if groups could create linked reading lists to books, articles, gather photos and articles, that a group newbie could digest to understant the context of group content. More than just del.ic.ius bookmarks, and more powerful than the H20 Playlist application, because it would have more content, more context, more community. Hmmmm.
