Life at the Hillbilly Hideout Part 1
Some people think that we are crazy for the way we have lived for the last few years, and they are right! But I have to admit I have enjoyed the Hillbilly Hideout tremendously. It goes along with my motto of life: I'll try anything once, twice if I like it. Well, I probable won't try thi
s again, but I am glad for the experience.
Our hideout is located in the farthest NE corner of Tennessee. The sun rises first in Johnson County, or so they say. My back yard is the Cherokee National Forest. The top of the mountain behind us is the Appalachian Trail. Wildlife abounds here, black bear, dear, bob cat, coyote, wild turkey, grouse and so much more.
We weren't supposed to be living up here. We bought this for a getaway, a place to one day retire to. I think it was the pioneer spirit in us and the encroaching city that pushed us over the edge. We charged forward and sold our home near Raleigh, NC and went where no man had gone before.
When we came up here we had no electricity, no running water and only one room. Those were some of the best days of my life though. It was so quiet and peaceful and simple. I remember when we finally did get electricity, lying there in my bed I was thinking how loud it was!! Electricity
makes noise, did you know that?
Today I am sitting here warm and toasty, while the snow falls so beautifully. It reminds me of why we did move here. Maybe it is because I know we are at the end of our time here. You see we have the Hillbilly Hideout for sale. Times have changed, things have changed, and it's time to move on. So I sit and reminisce about my old friend, The Hillbilly Hideout.

(And, who's that reading your license-plate in the top pic?)
Also, how'd ya place pictures in your text. I'd like to do that too.
Dixie Dew is reading my plate. She is a very educated dog you know. LOL
To place picts in your text you simply drag them where you want. As you can tell I am not very good at getting them exactly where I want. I have some words trailing at the bottom of a coupleof picts. If you click large view and drag from the pop up box it is better as it gives a larger picture to view.
I miss Dixie! She was a good dog and deserves her own story!
