Convicted Clothing is a recently debuted line in the California fashion arena that has a distinct edge-- one that might seem vaguely familiar because other lines out there have done something similar. Before you write this line off, hang tight--there IS a difference with this line-- it's the real deal.
You're probably wondering "what the heck?" -- Morphine Generation, Raw Seven and other lines have put clothing out there with similar edguy styling but it's all a rip of the California fashion ethic of the Barrio and "bad boy" and 'bad guys" that one often sees in and from those who have done their "time" -- as in prison time.
Convicted Clothing isn't a rip-off; if anything, it is more of the "real deal" because the line features clothing: tees, tanks, jackets, workshirts, hoodies and more with artwork of convicted felons from a variety of prisons from across California. Each piece of artwork is "signed" by the con and features the prison where it was created.

So what's up with this line? Beyond the creation of cool looking apparel with amazing art, it's about rehabiliation and helping the ex-cons get a fresh start where they have a CHANCE at making a real contribution to society and learning/building skills that will keep them out of trouble and prison!
According to Adam Overstreet, the owner and innovator of Convicted Clothing, there purpose is clear.
"Convicted Clothing is a company intent on giving you access to the incredible talents that most people don't even know is wasting away behind bars. It is our sincere hope that you too will come to appreciate the skills of these artists as we do. Thank you for stopping by."
Stopping by means checking out -- and buying-- the Convicted Clothing line. It's worth visiting the website and/or stores to see the amazing artwork and the talent that these offenders have developed and are putting to good use.

Defiant Eagle is about supporting the US and banding together against terrorists. It's for those who feel that they want to wear their support on their backs and show it off proudly.
Other artwork/apparel includes the following items.

Emperor Shirt by B Griswold, Ironwood Prison

Butterfly Girl Tank, Youngster, Pelican Bay

Convicted Clothing Logo Jacket

Hawg Workshirt, B Griswold, Solano Prison

Iron Cross Long Sleeve Tee, D Trout, Pelican Bay

Sick and Twisted Hoodie, B Griswold, Ironwood Prison

Top Hat Tank, Youngster, Pelican Bay
Now you can see the immense talent of the artwork-- and this is the genius of the idea that Overstreet has come up with -- to use this art to help create fashionable clothing to be sold that will help generate funds so that he can expand his clothing line to hire these men when they leave prison and give them jobs that will keep them functioning within society in a positive manner. Another aspect is that Overstreet wants to be able to provide half-way houses and living situations where ex-cons can learn to integrate back into normal society and become contributing members and pay their debt to society through that contribution and through 12 step programs.
Why would Adam Overstreet do this? What's his motive? Overstreet at one time did his time "inside" and thanks to a couple of people who believed in him, he was able to become a man who took the straight path and created a solid life for himself--through 12 step programs; by having a job and by having the support of people who believed in him.
Not only is Adam Overstreet contributing to society, he's into helping others overcome their past and become members of society who can say they learned their lesson .

I'm all for training those behind bars and giving them something valuable to do. Good idea.
also.. this is more "authentic' design than what you would see from other mainstream "hip" brands because of the originality of the designs..
the guy and his story captivated me.

I found this article to be inspiring. Adam Overstreet has some fundamentally sound concepts. He has tapped into a well spring of talent and diversity, that should be promoted as such. Of course the twist, of having to go "behind the walls" to find it, makes it just that much more facinating. Keep it coming!
