Yes, it's true. My little baby turned two in December. Here he is at his very cutest, sporting footie pajamas, his binkie, and his best friend, Curious George.
At daycare they made him the hat, which he loved to wear.
We threw a brief little party, which for toddlers should never be more than a couple of hours. There is only so much a short attention span, overstimulation, and too much sugar can allow!
Most of the guests were our close adult friends, many of whom have been an important part of his life thus far. They were there to feed me onion burgers and ice cream at Seafair when I
was very pregnant. They fed the cats while we were at the hospital giving birth. And they were his very first babysitters.
AB also made some new friends at the party. Nicholas and Nathan were two little boys who helped him practice sharing and helped break in the new toys.
Here is the Birthday Boy with his Mommy, while he waits for the singing to stop so he can dig in to his snowman birthday cake. (Since we had just had a streak of
unusually cold and snowy weather in Seattle, and Christmas was just a couple weeks away, we chose a snowman theme for the party.)
Once the cake and ice cream had been eaten, all of the presents opened, and the adults had had a chance to "test" each of the toys thoroughly, a very tired two-year-old toddled off for a nap.
