There's a rainbow on my carpet
Red Orange Yellow
Green and Blue
Violet glowing
Shining showing
Vibrant bow for me and you

Rainbows dancing in the kitchen
Over counters
On the Wall
See the colours
Brightly sparkle
On the woodwork in the hall

Crystals hanging in the window
Beveled glass
Both stained and clear
Bending sunlight
Precious prism
Bringing rainbows to me here

Laundry carried up the staircase
Finds me smiling
Filled with glee
Simple pleasure
In a rainbow
Bringing joy to drudgery

precious prism... I'm a sucker for alliteration. And I like the oxymoronic pairing of end rhymes "glee" and "drudgery."

We often search the world for happiness and then we come home, and there it is a rainbow in the carpet. Thanks for your reminder that happiness is a choice, not a pursuit.

Gary, your butterfly example reminds me........ and thanks for this......
when my son was very little, he liked our cats and would persue them with the intent to hold and pet them.
I explained cats are creatures who appreciate calmness and quiet, and once he understood to be still and present an inviting lap, he was rewarded with hours of contented companionship.

And by the way, Fairlawn is only about 20 minutes away from me.... the world gets smaller every day~
