Wiretapping, and the environment.

Ok, it's official now. Bush is spying on us illegally. apparently after 9/11, he wanted to start spying on people electronically (listening to their phone conversations, reading their emails, etc) but he knew there was a 1978 forbidding the NSA to conduct no-warrant surveilance in the US. So he had two choices. The fist was to revise the law. The other was to ignore it.

In the end, bush chose the first. but when that didn't work, he chose the second. Supposedly he is only spying on people that have been "known to have connections to al qaeda" because as Cheney says, "if you're calling aunt sadie in paris, we're probably not really interested," and that is supposed to make it okay. umm.. newsflash you stupid fat lard! it DOESNT make it okay because number one, it is ILLEGAL. If I see a nazi walking down the street and i shoot him, does that make it okay? No, because it's illegal. And number two, only the most ignorant idiot on the face of the planet would believe that Bush is actually telling the truth about who he is and who he isn't spying on, because as an educated person would know, there is a pattern here. Think about it. A republican imperialistic president, a war against a weak foreign country, a spying conspiracy, does this remind of you someone else in our history? yep. the infamous Nixon. If the american people are actually dumb enough to not realize that history is repeating itself just as it did a mere 30 years ago,  then maybe there really is no hope for us at all.

I read an article in national geographic yesterday about the native people of greenland. For the majority of the year, the waters that separate greenland from canada are frozen, and the people live as hunters in the freezing cold weather, walking on the ice and hunting polar bears and walruses. However, the pollution from cars, coal energy, petroleum energy, etc, (mostly from the USA) is so intense that it's actually melting the ice, making it extremely unsafe to walk on. It's only a small matter of time before the water stops is permanently liquid, causing the native americans in Greenland to either give up their traditional way of life, or to get by on very, very limited food. and that's what's wrong with global warming. More and more I see people that just blatantly dont care. they don't care that their waste of energy and gas is doing so much to the enviornment. They have so much chutzpah, really. their ancestors came here, to the north American continent, 300 years ago, colonized it, murdered the majority of its native people, founded a new nation called the United States of America, sporting a generic, bland sign reading "Freedom and Justice For All." Ironic isn't it? very ironic. The fact is that the mere existence of the nations of canada, usa, etc., is the exact opposite of justice. And now, all of these pathetic, dumb people waste the earth's resources and destroy the entire lifestyle of the people to whom this land really belongs. Chutzpah, such chutzpah. "If you want to live up here, you have to be a hunter," an elderly woman from greenland said. "But I know humans are changing the world. I heard they're even changing the weather."

That is what I think of when another one of my friends tells me that global warming doesn't matter, polution doesn't matter, overusing petroleum and natural gas doesn't matter, and I can't help but wonder how much the world dies a little bit every day.
