My holiday travels included some time spent in the Pittsburgh International Airport. The Pittsburgh Airport (PIT) is one of the nicer domestic airports that I've been in, having a reasonably nice shopping environment and selection of restaurants. One of the "features" is that merchants are not allowed to increase the price of things because they have a captive audience, so any shopping that you do is at fair market rate.
I ended up with some spare time, and noted a new addition to the stores at the airport. A new place, XpresSpa, has locations in terminals A and B. now, if you've got a little time to kill, you can get a massage in a comfortable environment. They were a little pricey for a massage, but not too much so. I had a very pleasant 30 minute deep tissue massage, which did a great job of relaxing me after a few hours in the air. It wasn't an issue for me, but my impression was that the staff will keep an eye on your flights, and make sure that you don't get too caught up on the massage and miss it.
For those on a tighter budget, I found several "massage chairs" around the airport, which will give you a slightly more generic massage, at a lower price. It's really not my style, but I can certainly see it being useful at times.
On the whole, i was pleased flying through the Pittsburgh Airport. It's one of the least stressful airports I've been in in the US. The added massage makes it even better!

I feel a bit for those merchants in the mall. When the airport opened, anybody could shop at the mall. Now you have to have a boarding pass. I don't think most of the stores, except for food vendors and maybe news stands, do much of a business.
