Operation Rescue's top spokespeople are voicing concern over Harriet Miers' nomination to the Supreme Court. They are saying bad things about her appointment, like "politically expedient, versus what is morally correct."
So I am looking at the appointment and wondering. If conservatives on a "litmus-test" issue are unhappy, maybe this lady isn't all bad. On the other hand, maybe the conservatives have finally decided that we're gullible enough to fall for a reverse psychology trick.
Damn, damn, damn. What's a true conservative (i.e., conserve the Constitution's mandate of minimizing government intrusion into personal morality) to do? Especially when, as a true conservative, that makes me liberal? But if I am liberal, I can't trust Harriet Miers. But if I can't trust Harriet Miers, I can trust her, because she has the distrust of the most reactionary religious-morality-enactors in the nation.
Excuse me. The smoke coming from my ears needs to vent.
