GATHER.COM ANNOUNCES "GATHER INDEX" OF MEMBER-RATED CONTENT
Gather.com Member Community Selects Top Authors, Articles, Topics By Multiple Criteria
BOSTON, MASS., Dec. 6, 2005 -- Gather.com™, the place to share and find the best member-generated content online, today announced the "Gather Index" of community-driven member ratings for content on the site by author, articles and topic "tags."
"Over 1.2 million blog entries will be published today alone," said Gather CEO Tom Gerace (tom.gather.com). "Centrally-controlled, centrally edited systems will miss the best authors and the content published online. That's why Gather.com uses a community-driven, 'bottom-up' approach where audience ratings, traffic and comments identify the best content. Through our multiple methods of categorizing and rating content, people can find what matters most to them quickly and form new connections around it."
