What are you into? As a Gather member, you can start your very own group about whatever matters to you.
Groups can be public or private, serious or silly. They're a great way to connect with people, hear other
points of view, share photos, or simply stay in touch.
Creating Groups
Creating your customized Gather group is easy! Check it out:
Once you're a Gather member, choose the Groups tab in the main menu, then click Create a Group. There are
several types of groups to choose from: Interest, Friends/Family, Blog, Planning, and Custom. The group
type will determine your layout, but you can always change it later. Some popular options include Featured
Content, Recent Photos, Content Comments, the Announcement area, RSS, and the Conversation Space.
To get your group up and running, just name it, choose a unique URL, write a quick description, and set the
group permissions. Give your new group a unique look and feel with a customized banner and icon. Then -- last
but not least -- invite people to join! You can even invite folks who aren't on Gather yet.
Finding Groups
Not ready to start your own group? You can still join one. Name any topic -- movies, music, cooking, coupons,
politics, parenting -- and folks are already talking about it on Gather. Whatever you're into, there's a
group for you! To find groups about your interests, visit the Groups page and type anything into the Group
Interests search box (midway down the right-hand side of the page). We'll search our thousands of existing
groups for the ones you're most interested in.
Ready to connect in a whole new way? Then it's time for you to join the conversation. Welcome to Gather Groups.
